Caleb McAllister competed in his second fight as a professional Mixed Martial Arts athlete on Friday. He was his usual calm self and despite having a long lay off and also knowing his opponent has much more experience. It was a great event with some great MMA up and coming talent. Caleb wins in the first round with a North South choke.
Congratulations Coach Caleb! Respect to Billy Mullins his opponent.
CHAMPIONS TRAIN FOR GAIN!
Some people train hard, some train smart, the goal should be to train harder and smarter. This is the best way to insure positive and consistent gains in your martial arts training and in life.
Most aspects of Martial Arts training is very measurable and predictable.
Flexibility, strength, endurance and skill level, are all measurable and vital areas of progress and growth for a BLACK BELT CHAMPION.
The results and benefits you obtain, are a direct reflection of the actions you take and the attention you give to each area. Champions strive to make positive progress and continually take baby steps forward, eventually leading toward bigger and better gains.
“To get more heat from a fire, you must put more wood on it!”
Train for Gain by allowing enough time to warm-up and get focused on
your training. Once warmed up, get into the game, play it all out and pay close attention to your form and detail. The devil is always in the details!
Train for Gain by understanding the concept of progress-vs-perfection. Meaning that before we can ever be great at anything, we must be willing to start the learning process. Part of this process is making mistakes, correcting them and practicing the correct skill, over and over again.
Train for Gain is understanding the ratchet effect. This is when we take three steps forward and sometimes take two steps backwards. Understand that we are still ahead of where we began.
Train for Gain by listening to your instructors and success coaches. Be coach-able, be curious and eager to learn and improve yourself. Most important, keep your goal clearly in mind, and train hard for gain and you’ll always get better!
CHAMPIONS TRAIN FOR GAIN!
Champions are Pro-Active!
USA Black Belt Champions students are well trained and highly fit achievers that understand it’s best to be proactive instead of reactive.
We do our best to condition ourselves to stay calm under pressure and to remain positive in our attitudes and actions. We strive to be pro-active in every situation and to search for a solution to every problem we encounter.
Most people tend to be highly reactive and quickly magnify the negatives that often make their problems worse. Being reactive under pressure can increase stress level and create unnecessary tension that can exaggerate the negative side effects. If this becomes habit, it can effect sleep patterns and cause ill health and irreparable harm to relationships. Long-term, it leads to a downward spiral and often leads to addictive negative behaviors.
We must all remember that we live in one of the greatest places in the world. Yet, it can still be challenging and unpredictable.
This is why we must all train ourselves to think…act…and live life as a highly pro-active Black Belt Champion.
Our best decisions in life, are usually made when we are in a positive and pro-active state of mind. Our worst decisions are usually made when we are in a negative and reactive state of mind.
One of the many benefits we gain from our Martial Arts training, is when we train hard, we regularly cleanse our mind, body and spirit of any toxins that can damage us. By training hard and smart, we enjoy improved circulation, lower bodyfat and release powerful endorphins to the brain that causes a euphoric state of mind. It’s that powerful, positive and optimistic attitude that allows us to remain pro-active in everything we do.
Champions are Pro-Active! Train yourself to be a pro-active person and you’ll be happier, healthier and more productive in everything you do.
Champions strive to surround themselves with positive, goal oriented people and stay away from toxic people that may have a negative impact on their attitude and actions.
CHAMPIONS are OPTIMISTIC!
A true Champion radiates the confidence that all obstacles and challenges can be overcome and all their goals can be attained.
Optimism inspires and empowers people to believe that they can do more and become better than ever before. It is one of the most powerful qualities for high achieving individuals.
You learn to become an optimist by modeling the behaviors of other positive, optimistic, action oriented Champions.
Champions are “I Can Do It!” people. They look for the good in every situation and always find a lesson to learn from setbacks. They never allow doubt to cloud their thinking.
Champions focus on the future rather than the past. They look for the opportunity in every difficulty. They look for what can be done now, instead of worrying about what has happened in the past.
“Your Past does not equal your Future!”
- Tony Robbins
Champions are very solution oriented. They focus on the solution and the next step, rather than the problem. They know you can change your mind from negative to positive in one second by focusing exclusively on solutions and taking positive steps to correct your course of action.
